Amenorrhea refers to the seizing or stopping of the menstrual flow due to several factors such as health conditions, usage of birth control, and most commonly, pregnancy.

Primary amenorrhea cannot be prevented, only treated. Secondary amenorrhea, however, can be prevented by avoiding certain contraceptives like Depo Provera, exercising and eating right to regulate the body mass index.
5. Does it have a cure?
It can be treated with lifestyle changes, hormonal pills, birth control pills or in some cases, surgery.
