The most obvious way(s) people achieve orgasms is by having sex or by masturbating, but what it if I told you there are other ways? There are several other ways in which people- mostly women- have or can reach orgasms. Of course, there are different types of orgasms for women: there’s vaginal orgasm, there’s the clitoral orgasm and there’s the cervical orgasm - even though those are not easily achievable and are quite rare. While it is important, imperative in fact for you (especially women) to learn your body through masturbation - knowing what gets you off and what gets you there, it’s also great when you don’t have to put in that much effort sometimes to get the big O.
There are apparently so many different ways (outside of sex and masturbation) to get there for many women and it doesn’t even necessarily have to involve genitals. It can be achieved during a wide range of activities, including riding a bike and exercising.
I’ll start by sharing a personal experience.
- I can reach orgasm by sitting down on a chair, grinding a bit, and thinking myself into one. Sometimes, I use porn but it’s mostly the power of my mind. I know it sounds really strange but it’s something I do and is possible for you too. Well, according to science, the parts of the brain that light up when you think about self-stimulation are the same parts that light up when you think about self-stimulation. The only difference would be in the intensity of the feeling you get.
- Nipple orgasms are a thing! A scientific study states that it is possible to achieve orgasms through nipple stimulation as long as you do it or get someone to do it right. Studies have shown that nipple stimulation was reported to enhance sexual arousal in 82% of women and 52% of men. Which means that if you do nipple stimulation right and long enough, it would result in an orgasm. You’re welcome.
Some of the mundane activities that people have reported to cause orgasms are riding motorcycles, yawning, getting a foot massage, awning, going on roller coaster rides, smelling mushrooms, even childbirth or getting tattoos. One woman reported getting an orgasm while walking barefoot after suffering an injury to her spine that makes her brain confused between her feet and vagina.
Unusual orgasms are not as rare as we think and while researchers haven’t been able to pin down a particular reason for this phenomenon, they have been able to narrow it down to a few possible reasons like Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD), a disorder that makes people become sexually aroused without any sexual activity or stimulation, unconscious orgasms, and like the case of the woman who had a spine injury: an accident that messes with the parts of the brain and hormones that handles stimuli. This is an indicator that maybe we haven’t scratched the surface of all the amazing things our bodies are capable of. One thing I’m sure of though: orgasms are fun, and we should all get them.
