Bernadette looked down at the home pregnancy test kit she held in her hands. Two lines meant positive; she was pregnant. She was not ready to be a parent, and neither was Ayo. Even though they were in a committed relationship, they had discussed their plans and a baby did not fit into the immediate plans.
She heard the girls discussing their sexual experiences with such ease, every one confident in their bodies and sexualities. The things she heard made her blush she would have liked to try or at least stop feeling self-conscious about her body but there were things she was dealing with that she was ashamed to share even with her best friends.
